Payment of college fees ? ( dit ireland )?

hi, i was in dit in a course and i had applied for a grant to pay my fees. i stopped going after christmas because i new it wasnt for me so basically i dropped out. i didnt let anyone know either the college or the grants office. i told the grant office today, they said it should be fine but they wernt cancelling my application as of yet just incase dit make me pay the fees. she said there might be a cut off point where fees must be paid even if you arnt doing your exams or re registering next year. just wondering is this true and if so, when that date is ??? cheers
