My skin is dry and burns?

right erm, my skin seems dry around my cheeks, lips and chin. i wash my face with warm water and soap then rinse off and then i rinse my face with cold water. my face felt really tight so i put some E45 cream on and it burnt up and wouldn't stop so i washe dit off. then the day after i tried baby lotion and it burnt, then sudocream and it still burnt. my face is dry still is there a way of moisturizing it without using moisturizer, sudocream and e45 ?
