Please! help me find a book?

I read this book several years ago in my high library, but I don't remember the name of the author nor the name of the book. It is a book talking about several teenage who know each other and all having some kinds of trouble in their life. The words that author used in the book are pretty unrestricted; for example, you see a lot of cursing words. In addition, I think the author also wrote a book about asian immigrant kids. Moreover, and I am not sure about this one, the book cover has some words like life is cool. I have trying to find this book for a long time. Please, even if you may not know,post some possible answers. Maybe I will have some luck this time. Thank You
