Worst advice you've heard about pregnancy or childbirth?

oh the things I've been told, my favorite was by a nurse when I was in labour with my first, I had pre-eclampsia and had made it clear I didn't want pain medicine unless I was going to have a c-section, nurse comes in and says 'you should have an epidural it could bring your blood pressure down' yeah isn't that why I was having medicine to control my blood pressure! or one I had through both my labours 'we don't like to let women in labour eat as it could make them feel ill' I was left starving through both my labours!
