Is it safe to keep dit da jow in a calabash?

I know it is usually kept in a glass jar, but calabash is often used in traditional chines medication and was beveled to absorb negative chi from the medication within. Even so, it is a dried gord, so would storing liquid medication instead of dry have detrimental effects? If is is safe to store dit da jow in Calabash, is it safe to decoat in it. Do you or have you ever heard of anyone doing this?
